Yet Another C64 Blog

@A90sTeen

My collection so far.

I decided to see what I have got, and photograph it.
Firstly, I have my C64C rig, which has a NEOS mouse, two 1541-II disk drives and an Ultimate-II+L.

Next, we have a (more or less) complete set of Night Moves, ALL of which were bought separately (as noted elsewhere on this blog), and yes, I now have TWO C64Cs – just need a second PSU to complete it.

I have a diagnostic Cart, so when I swap the computers around, I can check to make sure everything is still working, and that is a Konix Speedking Joystick – I had one of those back in the day – hence getting it.

The gallery here shows all my tapes, disks and cartridges. Noteworthy things:

The Commodore Format tapes are more or less how far I was into the Commodore Format magazines, and I have bought a CD-ROM of the magazines, as I have no desire to buy the real ones.

I had this model of the Action Replay cartridge. I cannot remember if I won it through Commodore Format or if I bought it. I remember buying a second tape deck through the magazine, and entered the competition for one, just don’t know how I acquired it, as £34.99 was too much for me at the time.

It is also obvious from this collection what publishing house I always went for – yes, it’s OCEAN!!! The only sting in the tail is Clue Master Detective, I had that on tape, which was lost with the rest of my original collection – not for the money, the fact is if I had it, I would have had something that isn’t in ANY tape archive, and I could have added it to the Ultimate Tape Archive.

Not a large collection by any means – but one I’m proud of, and I am the custodian of these for now. I don’t know the future of the collection – especially as I have my eyes on one of the Basic beige C64Us (when I have the spare cash) – but since the second C64, I now feel I have gone into collector territory, rather than just a retro computer enthusiast!
